Former Mississippi State Defensive Coordinator Takes the Helm
Mississippi State University has named Zach Arnett as its head football coach. Arnett, who had been the team's defensive coordinator since 2021, takes over the role following the untimely passing of Mike Leach.
Arnett, a former player and assistant coach at Mississippi State, signed a multi-year contract. He becomes the first former player to lead the Bulldogs' football program since Jackie Sherrill in 1991.
Arnett takes over a team that finished the 2022 season with a 4-6 record. He will be tasked with rebuilding the program and improving its on-field performance.
